Our Fallen

Lucky was declared 'missing in action' in Northern Helmand Province in Afghanistan on 4th July 2011 and is presumed to be dead. Lucky went missing during the same battle that took the life of Sergeant Todd Langley.

During the course of the battle Lucky broke away from his patrol and despite repeated attempts to call him back he was last seen in the vicinity of major insurgent concentration. Despite the efforts of the Australian soldiers to search for Lucky and confirm his status, the soldiers were under heavy insurgent fire and could not safely search for him. It was Lucky's first operational deployment.
